Here are some shots through the eye of my phone: for moments when I was too engrossed in the surroundings to remember Chloe :)

Solitude

Destination Annecy .. a beautiful town at the tip of Lake Annecy..an Alpine lake. Needless to say, the scenery takes your breath away. The town itself is rather quaint and seems to be built around the many canals that criss cross it. We went on the day of a busy antique flea market. We found our way out of the teeming masses of shoppers and tourists, and reached the banks of the lake. The crowds had spilt all around the lake but we found an old boardwalk that was just ideal to take in the view, breathe in the Alpine air and soak up the absolute beauty that is Annecy. This little flower seems to have discovered our little secret too…we didn’t mind sharing our spot…

Rive Gauche de Genève

I recently went on a mini break to Geneva and south-east France. Geneva is a gorgeous city… with the lake, bridges and towering mountain ranges. But what I fell in love with the most was Old Town (in Rive Gauche) – full of medieval architecture and narrow, winded cobbled stone streets. On an early morning prowl, I was fixated on this nondescript but gorgeous water fountain…

A sepia sunset

Shot in Grenoble, France. Loved how the sunset brought out the colors in this sleepy town!

Sunset over Fira

Posted: July 15, 2011 in light, sunset, water

I was talking to some friends recently about Greece and my favorite memories of it. I was reminded of this evening at Fira in Santorini. I was hanging around near Cafe del Mar … watching the sun go down over the bustling activity around the port. This criss-cross of boats somehow became more interesting than the waning sun….

my quiet place

On a recent visit to Paris (spot the trend yet?), I took an afternoon to just wander around the city and found myself cruising the Canal St.Martin. It was quite enchanting… amply interspersed with bridges and locks, greenery and Parisian life. I channeled my inner Amelie Poulain, missed Shwe, and just be’ed.

Silent Spectators

A snapshot from a recent trip to Pier I…just north of 68th st.

These wooden remnants of older piers hung around like a silent audience as the city went into a tizzy of enjoying the last weekends of summer.

Misty mountain hop

One of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs…Misty Mountain Hop. My iTunes shuffled to it suddenly….and I was reminded of my own misty mountain hop last month. Or maybe it’s cos it’s been raining all day… :)

On a road trip to Nainital from Delhi…it was storming on our way up valley so we had 0 visibility. But when we finally reached the lake, the clouds parted and we saw a bunch of happy campers boating. The mountains were covered in mist and green…. it was gorgeous!
